The Alpha Massage - Two Hours of Bliss

Our Alpha Massage Treatment, is the ultimate pampering treatment. You begin with a 50-minute "hands-on" massage. In addition to being placed in our Alpha 33 Relaxation Capsule for 30 minutes, after your "hands-on" massage, you will receive a 15-minute "pre-treatment" in our Alpha 33 Relaxation Capsule, utilizing our "pre-massage" spa treatment. This "pre-treatment" further prepares your body for the massage by relaxing your senses and warming your body, then receiving the 50-minute "hands-on" massage. Then you will placed in our Alpha 33 Relaxation Capsule.

Experience one of the oldest and simplest forms of healing used to ease pain, anxiety and promote good health and stress reduction.

Massage is the kneading and stroking of the body's soft tissues - the skin and muscles - with varying degrees of pressure, and is incorporated in a number of traditional health systems such as Ayurveda and Chinese Medicine. Practitioners of modern complementary therapies like aromatherapy and reflexology use various massage techniques.

What does it do?
Gentle massage affects the nervous system through nerve endings in the skin, stimulating the release of endorphins, the body's natural 'feel good' chemicals, to help induce relaxation and a sense of well being, to relieve pain and reduce levels of stress chemicals such as cortisol and noradrenaline. It helps reverse the damaging effects of stress by slowing heart rate, respiration and metabolism and lowering raised blood pressure. Stronger massage stimulates blood circulation to improve the supply of oxygen and nutrients to body tissues and helps the lymphatic system to flush away waste products. It eases tense knotted muscles and stiff joints, improving mobility and flexibility. Massage is not just a luxury anymore, it's a better way to healthier living!

Benefits of Massage Therapy
Many of today's health problems can benefit from massage therapy because the manipulation of soft tissues affects so many of our bodily systems. The benefits of massage are extensive. Massage therapy treatments will have a therapeutic affect and improve health by acting directly on the muscular, nervous, circulatory and lymphatic (immune) systems. Massage therapy is also effective in the control of pain chronic or acute, in stress reduction, and in creating a sense of relaxation and well-being.

Massage Therapy and Stress Reduction
Prolonged periods of stress can subconsciously affect many systems of the body. Stress has been shown to aggravate, or even cause, such problems as heart disease, gastrointestinal disorders, memory loss and decreased immune function. Massage therapy is one of the best antidotes for stress. Massage boosts the body's immune system, which can become compromised from extended periods of stress. Tension can build up in the muscles, causing a decrease in circulation and nutrient delivery to tissues. Manipulation of the soft tissue decreases muscular tension, increases removal of metabolic waste and promotes nutrient delivery to healing tissue. With a therapeutic massage, stress can be significantly reduced. This, in turn, will increase energy, improve your outlook on life, and in the process boost your immune system function.
